Bread Furst will sweeten your summer

Walking into Bread Furst on Connecticut Ave, you are instantly hit with the smell of bread, ranging from baguette, to wheat, to sourdough. Entering the bakery from the back, customers lay eyes upon the chefs hard at work, baking pastries, sandwiches, cakes, and pies; only a fraction of the goods that are offered at Bread Furst.

You can also purchase the ingredients that the Bread Furst chefs use, which are available on the shelves to use for your own recipes! Bread Furst has weekend specials with their bread, such as Challah and ‘Rustic baguette’. If you are looking specifically for those flavors, Friday-Sunday is the time to visit.

Bread Furst is only a 15 minute walk from Jackson-Reed, and a perfect place for a quick afternoon pastry. Though on the pricey side, Bread Furst provides great service due to the right amount of workers and chefs that make your experience as quick and enjoyable as possible.

Overall, I would rate the experience an 8/10. When going to Bread Furst for the first time, I tried the chocolate croissant, a fan favorite. If you are not a fan of croissants, you could also aim for their glazed donuts or cinnamon chocolate monkey bread, just as delicious.

I also ordered a bitter iced coffee, worsening the overall appeal of the shop. A variety of teas, hot chocolate, coffees, and juices also are offered.

Bread Furst is a great place to go in the morning for a quick breakfast, with its cozy environment, organization,  with a simple method of picking up and paying, and plenty of space for seating indoors and outdoors. The homely feel of Bread Furst with comforting wafts of fresh bread makes this a bakery that stands out amongst others, which is why I definitely recommend!
