Nowadays, there has been an increase in popularity of handmade jewelry online, but it is hard to make anything, but it is also hard to find anything online that is cute and cheap. But here at Jackson-Reed High School, there is a solution to this aesthetic jewelry drought: that is Ashley.co. This is a student owned business run by junior Ashley Abarca, who makes jewelry in “a lot of styles and aesthetics.”

Abarca states that creating jewelry started as a hobby, but as a business person she decided to start selling her creations. Apart from jewelry, she is planning on expanding what she “want(s) to expand it to be much more than just jewelry.”

After she started Ashley.co, Abarca saw this as an opportunity to “ Inspire teens or anyone who wants to that and (students to) be open-minded” and also so that teens can “turn something that seems like nothing into something much more”.

Below is a QR code that leads to Abarca’s pinterest, where she showcases her jewelry and more to come.
