Valentine’s day bash or crash?

Quick poll: who here bought a ticket to the Valentine’s Day Bash? We asked 100 students in the Atrium this question during STEP. Out of all 100 students, only one had purchased a ticket, and they claimed their parents had gotten it for them.

We asked several other students about their opinions on the dance itself. Some hadn’t even known it was happening until we asked, and even those who did know about it were less than enthusiastic. Freshman Hanaan Anderson declared “It didn’t even happen, and it definitely was a miss.” Other students suggested that the dance shouldn’t have been planned in the first place, or that a winter formal would have been more successful.

We’re not going to lie, the people who were trying to make this dance happen failed. As entertaining as it was, those karaoke songs in the Atrium made all the love in my heart fizzle out. The emptiness of the ticket line wasn’t helping. Approaching the table to pay ten dollars for a single ticket was like a walk of shame, especially considering the line was more clear than the rugby team sign-up sheet. Some of you might be wondering, what rugby team? Exactly.
